Rhode (Greece)

Rhodes Town is the preferred destination of those who desire choice and variety during the evenings. The Odós Orfanidou, or Bar Street, is lined from top to bottom with various pubs, cocktail bars and nightclubs.
As the sun slowly sets, descending into the sea, a stroll around the medieval alleys of the island's capital provides an atmospheric start to a long night. An old beach pavilion on the Akti Kountourioti is now home to a few of the town's nightclubs, although it is only after midnight that the area really begins to fill up.
A particularly marvellous spectacle can be witnessed every evening in the city gardens at the Grandmaster's Palace: an audio and light show brings the era of the Knights Hospitalers back to life. Rhodes Town is also home to a casino that is located in the Hotel de Roses, an old, magnificently renovated palace. The choice of restaurants in the islands capital is also most impressive: options range from gourmet restaurants to Greek taverns, to restaurants serving international dishes.
Countless bars and taverns also await adventurous guests in the picture book old town of Lindos. The night-time views from the highest terraces of Bar Lindos are really quite unforgettable including panoramas of the illuminated Acropolis and the dark shimmering sea. After midnight, the nightclubs, often located on the beach slightly out of the town centre, begin to fill up, or a wild party gets going down on the sand.
