Kos
(Greece)
Night-time revellers are to find countless bars and nightclubs in all the holiday resorts. For a most varied evening Kos Town comes highly recommended.
Between ancient Agorá and the harbour, numerous bars, cocktail bars, clubs and taverns are lined up awaiting custom. Featuring an old Turkish bath, the Hammam Club provides for a traditional ambience. The Fashion Club at the heart of the district has retained its reputation at the most renowned club address. The largest and the most famous nightclubs are situated close to Lambi Beach including the open-air nightclubs Heaven and Kalua. Those who like it a little quieter are able to take in foreign films, most of which are English language Hollywood productions, whilst enjoying the scent of oleander at Orfeas open-air cinema, which is situated next to the stadium.
In the village of Zia in the Díkeos Mountains, the two taverns, Fantasiá and The Dream, stage Greek folklore shows every evening where, at the end, barely a single guest will remain seated. Many taverns in the other mountain villages and on the Kéfalos Peninsula also serve traditional island dishes. As a general rule: if a large numbers of locals gather there, then the food cannot be bad!
