A Shakespeare-Festival is celebrated annually in mid-June in the antique Roman amphitheatre near Limassol. The Cypriot carnival and "Anthestiria", the spring blooming festival, are the most famous events throughout the year. Exhibitions, concerts and folk festivals are held throughout the year.
