There is always something going on in the bars and cafés. Throughout the day, guests may take in the Oriental flair in the market halls of Limassol, whilst the hint of antiquity wafts over from the ruins of Koúrion. A Shakespeare-Festival is celebrated annually in mid-June in the antique Roman amphitheatre near Limassol. The Cypriot carnival and "Anthestiria", the spring blooming festival, are the most famous events throughout the year. Exhibitions, concerts and folk festivals are held throughout the year.
